COOPER COLLAR
ARMOR, 2022-2023
"Armor" is a series of artistic products created from copper. Inspired by medieval armor and ancient knight's armor, these works combine aesthetic appeal and symbolic meaning.
Each piece, be it a collar, apron, helmet or lace, is created using fine copper wire loops. The graceful curves and detailed weaves of the wire embody the beauty and complexity of pictorial designs. Despite their fragile appearance, these works are incredibly durable and resilient.
Through its form, “Armor” symbolizes the inner world and its protection from external influence. They are associated with a talisman that protects the spiritual sphere and preserves the integrity of the individual. Copper wire, due to its unique properties, is an ideal material for this symbolism. It provides reliability, durability and protection against “corrosion”, and also has the ability to reflect energy impacts.
The place of origin of copper is the Urals, so I use this particular material. It represents natural energy.
